Town of Erin – Water Resource Recovery Facility
Background
The Town of Erin Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) project involved the construction of a new municipal wastewater treatment plant designed to support the community’s growing infrastructure needs. The project included the development of the complete treatment facility, together with the associated outfall and force main connecting the wastewater collection and treatment systems.
As part of this greenfield development, the facility required a fully integrated electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation system capable of managing critical treatment processes while providing reliable plant-wide monitoring, process control, and operational visibility. Valley Integration was selected to deliver the instrumentation, control panels, PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA integration for the facility.
Requirement
The new Water Resource Recovery Facility required a robust industrial automation platform capable of supporting multiple treatment processes while maintaining operational reliability and future scalability. The solution needed to provide:
- Centralized PLC-based process automation.
- Plant-wide SCADA monitoring and supervisory control.
- Integrated operator interfaces for local equipment operation.
- Complete instrumentation for accurate process measurement and monitoring.

Project Scope
Valley Integration was responsible for delivering the complete instrumentation and automation package for the facility, including:
- Supply, installation, testing, and commissioning (SITC) of new PLC, mixer, heat tracing, and communication panels.
- Supply and integration of process instrumentation, including dissolved oxygen analyzers, gas detection systems, flowmeters, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, and level instruments.
- PLC programming, HMI development, and GE iFIX Professional SCADA programming.
- Control panel engineering and system integration.
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, operator training, and complete project documentation.
