From the Floor at Innovate x AVEVA Day Toronto: A Recap
On October 20, Valley Integration Inc. exhibited at Innovate x AVEVA Day Toronto, one of the region’s key gatherings for industrial leaders, engineers, and technology experts. From the first coffee to the final conversation of the afternoon, our Booth was busy, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding days on our calendar this year.
Here’s a look back at the event, what we showcased, and what we heard from the people who stopped by.
About the event
Now in its third consecutive year, Innovate x AVEVA Day (formerly known as KTE) brings together manufacturers, utilities, and industrial organizations to explore how technology can drive measurable business outcomes.
This year’s theme, Accelerate Industrial Intelligence, focused on how organizations are using industrial AI, advanced analytics and real-time operational data to:
- Increase yield and throughput
- Optimize energy consumption
- Reduce operational variability across the enterprise.
Alongside expert-led sessions and technical presentations, the Innovation Zone gave attendees the chance to see live demonstrations and speak directly with solution experts. That’s where you would have found us.
At Booth: Our Booth: Real projects, not just slides
Rather than talk in generalities, we wanted visitors to see how we actually work. Our live demo screen walked through real-world architectures our team designs, codes, and commissions.
These walkthroughs started some of the best conversations of the day. Many engineers and plant managers related to their own sites in the architectures that were shown, which made it easy to get straight to the real challenges.
Our message on the floor was simple: We design it. We code it. We commission it. As a proudly Canadian-owned, AVEVA-certified partner, our team delivers:

What we heard from industry
Every conversation at the booth was different, but a few themes came up again and again:
- Ageing systems are reaching a tipping point. Many sites are running control systems that have served them well for years but are becoming harder to support. The question is no longer whether to modernize, but how to do it without disrupting production.
- Downtime is the biggest fear in any migration. Visitors wanted to know how upgrades can be staged and tested so the plant keeps running. That is exactly where careful planning and in-house testing make the difference.
- Data is there, but not always usable. Organizations are collecting more operational data than ever, yet many struggle to turn it into decisions. A well-structured historian and SCADA foundation is the first step towards analytics and AI.
- Ownership matters. Owners want standards-based code and documentation their own teams can understand and maintain, not a black box.
These conversations reinforced why we focus on being one accountable team, from engineering through to long-term support.
